CBS ACTION ACQUIRES STAR TREK: VOYAGER AND NCIS SEASON 6
London, 24 May 2012: CBS Action today announced its acquisition of the cult science-fiction TV epic Star Trek: Voyager, and the addition of crime series NCIS season 6, further broadening its extensive broadcast content portfolio.
Set in the 24th century from the year 2371 through 2378, the Star Trek: Voyager series follows the adventures of the Starfleet vessel USS Voyager, which becomes stranded in the Delta Quadrant 70,000 light-years from Earth while pursuing a renegade Maquis ship. The show follows the galactic action as both ships' crews merge aboard Voyager, to make the estimated 75-year journey home.
Star Trek: Voyager is the fourth incarnation of the science-fiction epic, which began with the 1960s series Star Trek, and is the only Star Trek series with a female captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) as a lead character.
Complementing the addition of Star Trek: Voyager to CBS Action, is the premiere of explosive crime investigation series NCIS season 6. Revolving around a crack team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the show follows the often gruesome criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
Led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) Gibbs’s team is composed of Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and Mossad Liaison Ziva David (Cote de Pablo).
